The Kid Should See This

A life-size, handmade, fire breathing, steel dragon

Watch more with these video collections:

When you first see this life-size fire breathing dragon, its size—the tail alone weighs over 1,000 pounds—and ability to shoot fire across a room demand immediate attention. But a closer look at this legendary creature reveals meticulous craftsmanship…

Each tooth was shaped to a point. Its large spikes were curved and textured with layers of welding. The dragon scales were expertly cut to size and thoughtfully set in place. Its wings boast shimmering textures achieved through the careful firing of the metal, and its skin was power-hammered to create the reptilian bumps.

Chilliwack, British Columbia-based metal sculptor Kevin Stone and his team specialize in large-scale, one-of-a-kind steel sculptures, and he considers this steel “Drogon” replica to be their greatest piece.

In this video from his channel, Stone shows off the mostly completed sculpture after more than two years of work. Finishing touches include building lift supports for transport, refining where components connect for reassembly, double checking the fire elements, and polishing it up for delivery to their client.
