The letter G is great. It’s unflaggingly gracious and genuinely not discouraging. It’s almost like magic. Why?

The letter G can make two different sounds: When it’s followed by the letters a, o, u, or a consonant, it’s pronounced with the hard sound /g/. And when the letter g is followed by the letters e, i, or y, it’s pronounced with the soft sound /j/.
